Sultan’s journey into the world of gems and jewellery began unexpectedly during a holiday to Sri Lanka, where a visit to a gemstone mine sparked a lifelong passion. This initial fascination led him to pursue formal training in gem cutting in Jaipur, followed by advanced gemological and management programs in the USA and UK. Returning to Chennai, he founded a boutique business in natural gemstones and fine jewellery, built on the unwavering principles of integrity and excellence.

With the creative support of his wife, Mrs. Alavia Sultan—a certified jewellery designer—the brand has grown steadily, gaining recognition both locally and internationally for its elegant designs that blend modern appeal with timeless charm. Today, Sultan Gems & Fine Jewellery has entered its second generation, with Mr. Sultan’s son, Yasir Sultan, taking charge of the day-to-day operations.

Having worked with top-tier designer jewellers in the discerning European market, Yasir brings a contemporary perspective and global experience that further strengthens the brand his father so passionately built.
